Last night about 10PM we heard a terribly loud noise, almost like a small explosion, coming from the garage. After looking around I realized it was the garage door torsion spring that had broken. This is the large spring that helps lift the heavy garage door. I had had Precision Garage Door Service come out to service the door about one year ago so I immediately called them, at 10:15PM, and set up an appointment today between 8 to 10 AM. At 8:00AM I received a call from the Technician, Ray G., who told me he would be here in 20 minutes, and that was exactly when he showed up. After opening the door, so I could get my car out, he did an inspection and then gave me Good, Better, Best estimates for fixing my garage door. The garage doors in the Arbor Town Homes are a relatively inexpensive door, and the springs, bearings, both in the rollers and the torsion spring bar, as well as the torsion spring have and estimated life of 6 to 9 years. We have lived here since 2006, so our spring lasted 9 years. I can highly recommend Precision Garage Door Service of Portland for when you need to get your garage door fixed. This is a very reputable and reliable outfit. They do not sell on price, they just want to make sure that a door repaired by them will last at least 10 years or more.

Dear Precision, Our service technician, Jess, could not have been more professional, and courteous. We are so pleased with the installation of our new garage door with remote and keypad access. He even went to several places to find a new 4x4, 16'support beam which demonstrated to us a great work ethic and attention to detail which is rare these days. My garage door opener (remote) frequently stopped working, which was really frustrating. I finally called Precision and they came to my home the same day. Brad came and replaced my remotes and also lubed my garage door that was jerking on the way up. He was fast, polite, and didn't try to sell me anything extra.

Thank you for coming to fix the Garage Door opener. Since the garage door was installed last year we have had to have it worked on twice. When the weather gets cold it hasn't worked. I would expect that the warranty begins again with this new install for both doors since it has not worked consistently since it was installed new just a year ago. My concern is that this will continue to happen again next year. I do appreciate the service but would expect a new garage to work perfectly for more than a year without needing service.
We appreciate your review and are sorry that it took several trips to get it right. We decided to completely replace the opener that was causing issues, and hopefully your garage door and opener will run smoothly in any weather from here on out. You are correct- you should expect a new door and operator to work perfectly right out of the box and we appreciate your patience. We have shared the issue with the manufacturer to try to prevent this from happening again. We will always stand behind our products and service and make it right.

I called and asked Precision to come out to repair our garage door and they were out in about 2 hours. The repair person fixed the door perfectly. He didn't try and sell us on any other repairs, which we really appreciate. I would highly recommend Precision if you need any repairs!

I had a tune up and replaced the old rollers w/ the new nylon rollers, something I purchased on the AAA Member deals. I was leary at first, but couldn't pass up the deal. When the tech (Branden) came, he was fast, efficient, and friendly. I did have a slight problem w/ the door not closing properly after the tech left, but this had happened before and they were quick to have him come back out and repair with no hassel-it was a quick fix. Customer service was excellent and they were all fast and effective and wanted a smooth resolve as much as I did. I will be back to Precision for all my garage door needs.

Ray and his helper did a great job. One of my openers broke and I was past due for replacing my two 35 year old garage door openers. Ray reviewed the different Precision models as well as offering to install any other brand I might choose. I went with the Precision belt driven model. I cannot believe how quiet it is. In addition to replacing the old openers, they also replaced all the rollers, replaced both springs, adjusted the track and tightened and lubricated the door hinges. I could not be happier with the final result.
