Precision Garage Door replaced broken springs several years ago and threw in some extras. This call was for a basic inspection as it's been about 5 years since, and our door is activated multiple times a day. I loved that their office phone is answered by a real polite and service-friendly person. I was scheduled for service the very next day. The technician was very experienced and knowledgeable. Granted, my opener is 11 years old, it is no longer produced, but still functional. My real complaint was the noise while in operation and the lurching when activated. Replacing the rollers and tuning the motor to adjust tightness in the chain cured the clanky functionality and transformed this system like never before. Best decision ever!

Our garage door stopped working around 1145 and David H to check our garage. He gave us options on how to do the garage and was very knowledgeable about what needs to be done.We chose to overhaul our garage and he was able to fix our garage door in an hour. He was also able to impart information on what work was done to the garage door. He also showed me how to maintain it, and when to call them (we chose to get the option with 10 year warranty. We are happy that our garage door is fixed and is not loud anymore.

In my 43 years of life, I’ve only taken the time once before to write a positive review for a business. I had a door installed 3 years ago from precision and noticed an issue this morning that was of concern. I called around 11am to request service and the kind and professional woman I spoke to informed me that she could have someone to come repair it within a few hours. David Heath arrived right on time, was very professional, polite and thorough in the work provided. When I asked for the bill, David informed me that precision stands by their warranty and today’s visit would cost me nothing. I’m very impressed with the business model of this company and the level of “customer first” service they offer. Ten stars!

The service was great! I called late in the day when I realized there was a broken spring. They sent someone out early the next day. The technician was great and explained everything so I could understand. Two weeks prior to this spring breaking, (I have 2 springs on my door) the other one broke. I called the company I have used for years and they came out and replaced it. I wasn't too happy with them and found out the company had changed hands since I last used them 2 years ago. When I called them, they answered the phone with the same company name I had used. It wasn't until the technician got here that I found out about the change in ownership and name. Kind of misleading. The technician replaced the spring and didn't adjust the system. When the other one broke I decided to try Precision, and Im glad I did. And the bonus...$100 cheaper and better service!

What a great experience with this company and their technician David Heath! I’d spent quite a bit of money buying a new insulated overhead garage door with another company. The door looks great but made a horrible grinding noise, for over a year. I paid to have this other company come out to fix the noise but they couldn’t. I was told, “That’s just the way it’s going to be.” Out of desperation, I called Precision, and they had David there within 24 hours. It took him less than 15 mins to properly lube my door and make the noise STOP! He showed me how to lube it myself if I wanted to, and he left me the can. I now have a quiet, correctly working garage door. I will be asking David to come back!

Spring failure — needed service ASAP. Precision door had a technician on site in less than 2 hours. David Heath was a great guy explained all my options with no pressure. Noted areas of excessive wear, bearings and rollers. David went through the repair process methodically and explained each step. Tested the door motion extensively and made minor tweaks. Door operates the best it has in years. Great service from a wonderful guy.

Update after a second visit: we had the same technician come and help us with a different garage door issue, and again he was amazing and fixed a hard-to-diagnose problem. He was patient, resourceful, and thoughtful. (David! hope it's ok to name him, he was so great. I would give him 10 stars if I could!) First visit: Technician arrived on time; was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He communicated clearly and was happy to explain as much as I needed, and answered all of my questions. I feel he honestly explained the benefits and drawbacks of repair vs. replacing. He was able to fix my garage door and got it working better than ever, and all in a very reasonable period of time. I'd be happy to do business with them in the future!

Our technician, David, showed up about five minutes early for our appointment. He Recognize the problem right away, Offered And explained to us three choices To remedy the problem, And got right to work. He not only replaced springs and bearings. He also switched the sensors around so that the sun wouldn’t blind our sensor during the summer. I will always use this company in the future. Over the years we have had several different garage door repair businesses service our garage door. David Heath, with Precision Garage Door Service in Portland is, by far, the most knowledgeable and proficient of the techs who have worked on our door. Our door was spontaneously reversing itself on the down travel, and David correctly diagnosed the problem as a tired consumer-grade opener motor which had been incorrectly programmed to its highest power level, which wore the motor out prematurely. Precision Garage Door installs only top quality hardware, and, while the price for the LiftMaster opener David installed for us caused me some sticker shock, we are delighted with the operation of our new opener. This opener has internal battery backup in the event of a power outage, a camera, and WiFi connection, so the opener’s status is reported to my phone. I can even open and close the door using the dedicated app on my phone. All of these features of course add to the cost of the unit. David also did a tuneup on the door and confirmed correct operation of all the safety components and took the time to exercise the new opener multiple times to verify satisfactory operation. In summary, I am happy to recommend Precision Garage Door Services to anyone needing garage door servicing. (Sorry, the photo of the opener is kind of “blown out” due to the brightness of the LED light surrounding it. I took a video of the door opening and closing to show the quietness of the unit, but Google won’t accept the video due to the size of the file).
