Last night about 10PM we heard a terribly loud noise, almost like a small explosion, coming from the garage. After looking around I realized it was the garage door torsion spring that had broken. This is the large spring that helps lift the heavy garage door. I had had Precision Garage Door Service come out to service the door about one year ago so I immediately called them, at 10:15PM, and set up an appointment today between 8 to 10 AM. At 8:00AM I received a call from the Technician, Ray G., who told me he would be here in 20 minutes, and that was exactly when he showed up. After opening the door, so I could get my car out, he did an inspection and then gave me Good, Better, Best estimates for fixing my garage door. The garage doors in the Arbor Town Homes are a relatively inexpensive door, and the springs, bearings, both in the rollers and the torsion spring bar, as well as the torsion spring have and estimated life of 6 to 9 years. We have lived here since 2006, so our spring lasted 9 years. I can highly recommend Precision Garage Door Service of Portland for when you need to get your garage door fixed. This is a very reputable and reliable outfit. They do not sell on price, they just want to make sure that a door repaired by them will last at least 10 years or more.

My garage door opener (remote) frequently stopped working, which was really frustrating. I finally called Precision and they came to my home the same day. Brad came and replaced my remotes and also lubed my garage door that was jerking on the way up. He was fast, polite, and didn't try to sell me anything extra.

Thank you for coming to fix the Garage Door opener. Since the garage door was installed last year we have had to have it worked on twice. When the weather gets cold it hasn't worked. I would expect that the warranty begins again with this new install for both doors since it has not worked consistently since it was installed new just a year ago. My concern is that this will continue to happen again next year. I do appreciate the service but would expect a new garage to work perfectly for more than a year without needing service.

I had a tune up and replaced the old rollers w/ the new nylon rollers, something I purchased on the AAA Member deals. I was leary at first, but couldn't pass up the deal. When the tech (Branden) came, he was fast, efficient, and friendly. I did have a slight problem w/ the door not closing properly after the tech left, but this had happened before and they were quick to have him come back out and repair with no hassel-it was a quick fix. Customer service was excellent and they were all fast and effective and wanted a smooth resolve as much as I did. I will be back to Precision for all my garage door needs.

Ray and his helper did a great job. One of my openers broke and I was past due for replacing my two 35 year old garage door openers. Ray reviewed the different Precision models as well as offering to install any other brand I might choose. I went with the Precision belt driven model. I cannot believe how quiet it is. In addition to replacing the old openers, they also replaced all the rollers, replaced both springs, adjusted the track and tightened and lubricated the door hinges. I could not be happier with the final result.
